If you’re an internet radio broadcaster, we’d love to hear from you. We list any (legal) internet radio station or podcast.
If you’re wanting to change any information, please get in touch (our address is at the bottom of the page), quoting the URL for the page you want changed.
If you’re wanting a brand new listing, here’s the information we’re looking for:
New radio stations
- The owner of your station
(eg BBC, ClearChannel, Bradford Community Radio)
- The name of your station
(eg Live 105, Chantelle Radio, Radio Nova)
- Where you’re based: Country, State/County, City
- A short description
(eg “Music and news for Canberra”, “The comedy that makes you laugh”)
- All available audio streams
We’ll use Windows, streaming MP3, Real or AAC. Let us know your bitrates, too. If you perform geo-blocking, tell us where you’re available.
- A nice, big, logo (ideally a PNG, over 600px wide/high)
- Your broadcast parameters
- If you’re on DAB, please let us know your muxID, Service ID and Service Component ID.
- If you’re on FM, please let us know your RDS/RBDS PI code and frequency.
This’ll allow us to help our radios spot your broadcasts in future.
New podcasts
- The owner of your podcast
(eg BBC, ClearChannel, Bradford Community Radio)
- The name of your podcast
(eg Terry’s Trout Half Hour)
- Your RSS feed addresses, or - better - your OPML feed address
- We’ll grab descriptions and an image from your RSS feed: we use Apple’s iTunes extensions. Make sure your image is nice and clear.
Please send the above information in an email to editorial@thelounge.com for consideration by our editorial team.
Legal
Our lawyers have asked us to let you know that by submitting a new listing, or a request for a change to a current listing, you understand and accept that:
- We may amend or edit the information you give us so that we can provide a consistent and high-quality service to everyone
- You warrant that you have the correct licenses in place for the content you broadcast, and agree to show us evidence if we ask for it
- You give us a non-exclusive, world-wide licence to store, display and use the information you supply us, including your logo, to help publicise your content on our devices, and other devices connected to The Lounge’s content database or other services that use this data
- We may remove your content at any time without notice for any reason and do not guarantee a listing
- We will remove your listings automatically if you’re off-air, or you remove your podcast feeds or audio files. Please let us know if you’ve permanently ceased broadcasting
We’re also working with...
- RadioDNS: a way of linking your broadcast radio station to the internet. Some PURE radios use RadioDNS to display additional information on-screen while you listen, and we’re looking at other ways to use this later, too. Find more at radiodns.org
- IMDA: the internet media devices alliance is an association helping to ensure you don’t need to type all the tedious information above for every single company that runs internet radio portals. As the IMDA specification becomes a standard, we plan to look at how we support it. Find out more at imdalliance.org
